Canberra Farmers’ Market, every Sunday morning

Regional, seasonal produce

The Southside Farmers Market is a village market that provides all the fresh food that you need for your weekly shop.  The market has a great range of fresh, seasonal produce from around 50 stallholders each week - including fruit, vegetables, eggs, meat, fish, honey, bread, gourmet treats and much more.

Amongst the wide range of food available, you will find organic vegetables from Cowra, organic meat from Bombala, organic (in conversion) salad greens from near Hall, vegetables from Marulan and Murrumbateman, fresh mushrooms from Gundaroo and the south coast, award winning olive oil from near Hall, mandarins and oranges from Leeton, apples from Batlow, free-range eggs from Nimmitabel and Gundaroo, biodynamic meat from Uriarra, and organic and fair trade coffees roasted here in Canberra.  If you have a sweet tooth try some greek sweets, organic chocolates or a sweet pie or pastry.

There is a wide range of certified organic and biodynamic produce available.

After your shopping relax over a hot or cold drink (try a hot chocolate made with real Belgian chocolate) or a snack in the sunny courtyard.  There is plenty of free parking.

The market is open every Sunday morning (from 8am - 11.30am), Woden CIT, corner of Ainsworth Street and Hindmarsh Drive.

Our new car park is now open - almost 400 spaces in a fully paved car park just a few metres from the market.  Access is off Abermarle Street (first on the right past the CIT).  The car park that we are using for the truck-based stalls is now closed to customer parking.  Disabled parking is provided behind building J, in the new car park, and at the car parks at the front of the CIT.

Other market news and information

Do you have a copy of our wallet guide to seasonal produce in our region?  Free copies are available each week at the market stall and the coffee cart (both are in the courtyard).

Market signs are green for produce grown or processed by the stallholder and white if the stallholder is an agent for another grower or producer.  If in doubt, ask the stallholder.

The market is a proud supporter of our local community, so you might also see OzHarvest, Woden SEE-Change, the Canberra Valley Lions Club, local church groups, or some of our local musicians.

Want to see how far our market produce travels, or find a stallholder at the market? Shortly you will be able to see our map of the market and information about our stallholders.  In the meantime, you can download this PDF:
