New Northside Farmers Market
at the University of Canberra
If you can't make it to Southside on Sunday, come along to the new Northside Farmers Market at the University of Canberra on Saturday afternoon.
Both markets are now open each Saturday and Sunday (rain, hail or shine)
You may have noticed over the past few weeks some of our stall holders were still on holidays. With the exeption of Formichi smallgoods, and a few who have been adversely affected by the hot weather, they should all be back at the market now.
Northside Farmers Market
University of Canberra
Each Saturday afternoon there is a great range of produce available to students, staff and the general public, including farm-fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh fish and seafood directly from the south coast, organic beef from near Bungendore, olive oils from Yass and Griffith, chickpeas and borlotti beans from Griffith, garlic from Moruya, eggs from Grenfell, mushrooms from the South Coast, dairy from Picton, breads and bakery treats from Canberra bakers, chicken, duck and goat meat, and much more.
Stop for lunch or afternoon tea - coffee, iced drinks (including Mick's orange slushies), gozleme, waffles, churros and sausage sandwiches.
The market is open every Saturday afternoon from 2.30-5.30pm, at the University of Canberra (Kirinari Street, in front of building 10). Enter the UC campus from Ginninderra Drive (see the map at the bottom of this page). Close, easy, free parking in the University car parks. ATMs close by.
Southside Farmers Market
CIT Southside Campus
The Southside Farmers Market is a village market that provides all the fresh food that you need for your weekly shop. The market has a great range of fresh, seasonal produce from around 60 stallholders each week - including fruit, vegetables, eggs, meat, fish, honey, bread, gourmet treats and much more.
Amongst the wide range of food available, you will find organic vegetables from Cowra, free range eggs from Gunning, organic meat from Bombala, organic salad greens from near Hall, vegetables from Marulan, fresh mushrooms and seafood from the south coast, award winning olive oil from near Hall, oranges from Leeton, apples from Batlow, local breads, cooking sauces and condiments made in Canberra, and award winning organic and fair trade coffees roasted here in Canberra. If you have a sweet tooth try some freshly baked, tarts, macarons or cakes.
There is a wide range of certified organic and biodynamic produce available.
After your shopping relax over a cappuccino or a hot chocolate made with real Belgian chocolate, with a crepe, sausage sandwich or gozleme in the courtyard.
The market is open every Sunday morning from 8am - 11.30am, at the CIT Southside Campus, corner of Hindmarsh Drive and Ainsworth Street, Phillip. The closest parking is the ACT Health car park off Albermarle Place, or in the carparks at the front of the CIT.

Do you have a copy of our wallet guide to seasonal produce in our region? Free copies are available each week at the market stall and the coffee cart (both are in the courtyard).
Market signs are green for produce grown or processed by the stallholder and white if the stallholder is an agent for another grower or producer. If in doubt, ask the stallholder.
The market is a proud supporter of our local community, so you might also see OzHarvest, Woden SEE-Change, the Canberra Valley Lions Club, local church groups, or some of our local musicians.
