Come and meet the people growing your food
About us
Real food, grown close to home
Southside Farmers Market is a village market that provides all the fresh food you need for your weekly shop. Every Sunday morning, around 60 stallholders set up on the grounds of Canberra College in Phillip, bringing produce from farms and kitchens across the Canberra region and beyond.
Look for the green signs. They mark produce grown or processed by the stallholder themselves. White signs mean the stallholder is an agent for another grower or producer. If you're ever unsure where something comes from, just ask; these are the people who grew it, caught it or baked it, and they love to talk about it.
You'll find vegetables from growers around Cowra, Hall and Marulan, free-range eggs and pasture-raised meat, fish and seafood off the South Coast boats, apples from Batlow, citrus from the Riverina, local honey and olive oil, wood-fired bread and freshly roasted coffee. There's a good range of certified organic and biodynamic produce too.
Once your basket's full, relax over a coffee or a hot cacao with a crepe, waffle, gözleme, soup or a sausage sandwich in the courtyard. It's an easy, unhurried way to spend a Sunday morning, and a chance to put faces to the food on your table.
